Went here for Mother's Day breakfast. I ordered the avocado toast and added chorizo, and Mom got the breakfast plate which included farm fresh eggs, Benton's bacon, potatoes, toast, and grits. We both got an iced latte with maple syrup. Service was fast and friendly, food was delicious and on the healthier side, coffee was top notch, and atmosphere was trendy and relaxing with riverside dining. Would love to come back to try the lunch menu!

While visiting a friend in Newport we came across this hidden little gem tucked away by the river, chef owned/operated by Kendale (Ball). We got the chorizo omelet with potatoes and the breakfast plate with eggs medium and grits. Chorizo, locally sourced with a house blend of spices, worth a try. The grits, mixed with cheese and peppers, stick to your ribs style. And the house bacon, sourced from Madisonville, TN, salty, smoky, thick cut, all the things you want in bacon - delicious!! None of the food needed additional seasoning! If ever looking for a breakfast/lunch spot, this is the one to check out!

We went to Simpl Cafe because we were told that they are safe for celiacs, and we had a guest visiting who we wanted to keep safe. Not only does Simpl Cafe have a gluten free menu, but the chef even came to our table to ask if the gluten free order was for an allergy or a preference. While she is careful, anyway, if there were an allergy, the chef wanted to be extra aware. For that attention to the customer's safety, I am giving this place five stars.

We had the absolute best experience at this restaurant. The owner told us his story and how they had just opened when the flooding in Newport Tennessee happened last September. They have recently been able to reopen and the whole experience was lovely. The shrimp and grits were the best we’ve ever had and their steak and egg toast was amazing!! The staff were friendly and attentive and overall the best restaurant we have been to on our trip to the beach. If you get the chance to drive through Newport off of I-40 I highly suggest stopping and grabbing a bite to eat and sitting outside by the pigeon river! I am also celiac and they had fresh made lemon loaf that was the best gluten free dessert I’ve ever had!

We had eaten here before the hurricanes. I am so tickeled they have opened back up! The interior looks so good. They also have been able to keep their prices low and affordable. They have many different coffee choices. We went today for breakfast. I love chorizo and the omelette did not disappoint. My husband got the breakfast plate and it was a good portion. My daughter said it was some of the best French toast she’s ever had. If in town definitely try it, and support local!

Fresh and clean. The food looked AMAZING coming out of the kitchen… Drip coffee and chai were perfect. Next time we will come hungry and sit out back to eat and watch the river. Strongly recommend.

A wonderful, serene breakfast spot with the most amazing view. The staff was so nice and helpful, and the food and drinks came out very quick but super tasty! Would highly recommend and will be back!!

We have been wanting to try Simpl Cafe for so long and I’m glad we finally did!! Atmosphere is awesome, plenty of seating inside and out. Very clean. Food is extremely good and priced fairly! I am vegetarian and we got the egg and pesto sandwich and the breakfast burrito. We are planning on coming back for many more visits and I can’t wait to try more things! If I had one tiny critique it is that I do wish the potato’s has been more “done”. They were a little undercooked, but it didn’t ruin the meal at all, and judging by other peoples photos, it looks like a one off occasion and I’m guessing they be even better next time! Thanks for having such an awesome place in Newport!
